Exporting data with user-configurable fields in SM2

We’ve been asked by customers and users for the ability to export data from SM2’s results reports in a format that allows users to use that data with other reporting solutions. We’ve always offered the ability to export but the entire record came out as one data field. Now we’ve added the ability to choose the fields within the SM2 search results when you export.

What's a 'Community Manager'?

Maybe the hottest new job in the marketing world, that's what. And I have to admit that I just heard the term on Connie's blog (and about ten other places simultaneously). Yet as we struggle with developing a viable model for social media engagement, Community Managers are probably the easiest way to wrap our arms around a description of the process. The job description for a community manager is also the process description for successful engagement.… Continue

Connie's Expert Opinion

Redefine Customer Communication

Last week I did a half day workshop at Enterprise 2.0 in Boston. We had a great conversation! Over fifty people from a broad range of backgrounds attended! I was glad to hear that we had more than marketing people. There were some social media people, analysts, community managers, higher education (one in engineering!), programmers, [...]

Living on the Edge

So you’ve built up your personal brand to superstar status. Everyone is watching. You are setting the pace and rocking it as an A-lister. Your community loves & adores you. Everything is awesome right? What could go wrong? An unintentional mistake … I’ve watched it happen over the past couple of years. The blogging community [...]

Moving Community Gardening Beyond a Hobby

This past week I was at Enterprise 2.0 in Boston. Before Alistair Croll started his session he apologized with a quick forewarning, “I’m going to be beating up on Community Managers”. I’m fine with that! I think that we need to be pushed out of our comfort zone. Alistair started his presentation with – Community [...]

Hat tip to Merlin Mann at 43 Folders

At the American Nuclear Society conference taking place in Atlanta this week I was part of a panel discussion with Rod Adams from Atomic Insights, John Wheeler from This Week in Nuclear and Kirk Sorensen from Energy from Thorium (speaking from the audience). This is a critical mass of nuclear energy bloggers by any definition.

A lot of the discussion was on the mechanics and practices o
